I worked while I was at school. But first jobs and first days are always a little nerve wracking.
You'll be fine.

Hi there, first days are always hard....meeting new people, learning names of everyone, then forgetting them. I've been at my current job now for almost 6 months and even though it is a small company i'm still getting to know people because we are stuck in the cubicle pretty much all day. I don't plan on staying here for my entire life, so i'll have to go through the "new hire" thing again soon. I hope to make a career change to become a teacher. Good luck with your new job whenever you get it!

well, I had to work all through highschool, if I wanted any money at all. My mom was a single parent and even with child support from my Dad, there wasn't a lot of extra, so I have always worked, payed my own way through college, and am now a married and working mom of 2. My first job ever was as a cashier at a supermarket, it sucked. Now I am a nurse, and I guess it was a bit nerve racking to start that job, but I was prepared for any job because of past experience...

Um, I was still in high school when I got my first job. I wasn't very nervous b/c a classmate's father was the manager and I was all but guaranteed the job.

Since I started working long before I even got to high school, I'm not sure I could be of much help. I was more nervous about going to school then I was about work.

I was pretty nervous, I saw everybody different than me, first thing I was a learner and is always hard to start, But I have learned that you need to be focus on your job, to do a good job, at the end all depends of you.

It can be a challenge, but it is a new phase of your life. I would say learn as much as possible in the next 6months to a year of your job. Be open and try to do everything you can possibly do even if you are not interested. Every 6 months evaluate if this is what you want to do and if you are learning, and if you like it. If you don't then you can begin the exercise of looking for another job.

I wasn't too nervous. I took a 3 month vacation to do whatever I wanted. Relaxing.

I was nervous, but that faded quickly and excitement and anticipation fof the things to come covered my every thought. Enjoy it, you will have more than one job in your life. It's the journey, not the destination.
