If you read the story, Jessica fooled around while she was filming "the dukes of hazzard." No one knows if that is true or now. Also the father was a "controlling" freak and probably did not want his daughter to be married. Maybe he was afraid some of the money would be going to the husband and not to him.
Whatever it is, they are both happy being away from each other. Nick has a record that is a hit. Jessica is in movies and having fun. They probably married too young and she was too immature to really know what she wanted.
She had already cancelled their marriage once. So maybe that was a sign that showed she wasn't ready.

Nick is too narcissistic and Jessica can't tell the difference between tuna and chicken. Apparently as part of the debate, Jessica slapped a helping of both on herself in the bedroom and what started the last of the pre-divorce fights was when Nick refused to participate because he felt he was too dignified for the romp.

They were a normal Hollywood couple. Being in the spotlight all the time makes it hard for married people in Hollywood to stay together.

They are celebrities. Celebrities should not get married to other celebrities. They are too high maintenance and neither one is willing to give for the other.
