There are a number of quite separate insect families which are called Daddy Long Legs in different places. Obviously the diet depends on which one you mean, but have a look at the pictures on wikipedia and you should be able to find the answer to your question.

I was about to ask the very self same question.
When I came down stairs and saw my kitchen window on Sunday morning the outside was completely covered in Daddy Long legs. This year they seem to be about in profusion.

Early autumn is the hatching time for daddy longlegs, and they don't eat anything. They only exist for a few days, and their sole purpose is to mate with females to make daddylonglegs for next autumn. Pointless bloody insect.

Daddylonglegs or Crane Flies only lap up liquids with a beak-like extension of their heads.Their larvae which live in the soil (called leatherjackets) ravage the roots of plants and are bad news to gardeners.

I didn't think that they ate anything as a flying insect only drink a drip or two of water, they just breed and die. Could well be wrong though - not at my best with insects!

I have heard that they eat flying insects like gnats, fleas, flies and mosquitoes. I have a lot of them, too.

They eat nectar. See link.
I know it sounds stroppy, but why do so many people answer without even checking?
