In my opinion, he is very divisive. He and Bill Clinton have more in common than he cares to admit. Clinton's specialty was pitting people against one another - Sean does the same thing. Sean says he wishes everyone could get along. How can he mean that, when he constantly ‘cherry picks’ sound bites from the Dems, and then incessantly harps on them?
Sean is to the GOP what Al Franken, Michael Moore, Howard Dean, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are to the Democratic Party. Just as the aforementioned have tainted their Party, so too has Sean. He does my Party (GOP) no good whatsoever, and quite frankly, he gives us a bad name. Sean Hannity is nothing more than a 'Rush Wannabe.' I like, and have respect for Rush Limbaugh. I can't say the same for Sean.
Oh, and before you pull a Sean Hannity and accuse me of 'masquerading as a Conservative,' maybe you should take a look at my website: http://www.edwimmer.com. I accept your apologies in advance for thinking I was a Liberal.

I'm a conservative and I don't care for Hannity either. I think it is his New York way of doing things. It is very harsh. Also I hate how he attacks people personally when he feels attacked. It is very juvenile. I'd much rather see him take them on in the arena of ideas and leave the personal attacks out of it...even when they are attack him.
If you are looking for someone refreshing to listen to, check out Glenn Beck. He has an AM nationally syndicated talk show and has recently started doing an evening show on CNN Headline News (7PM and 10 PM EST) He is very funny and a deep thinker. He is conservative but will slam the GOP too when they deserve it.

Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Al Franken, Michael Moore and Jon Stewart are all entertainers who have chosen either the liberal or conservative viewpoint and accentuate the difference in the ideologies to get ratings. In their business rating equal money.
Howard Dean is chairman of the DNC and their politics are of devisiveness, highlighting differences and disempowering thier constituents by keeping them dependent on entitlements while reminding them how downtrodden and hopeless they are. Which is exactly how Al Sharton and Jesse Jackson maintain their grip on their audience. They remind their constituents how powerless they are and demand entitlements to make them "equal", instead of telling people to keep their kids in school and off drugs so they can succeed. Dean, Sharpton and Jackson do nothing to emplower their constituents, they keep them powerless and dependent.
So I'll take Hannity, Rush, Moore or Franken over Dean, Sharpton and Jackson. Their form of prostitution is at least sincere.

Either way, he has strongly influenced people. A lot of people still believe the lie he told about Sudan offering bin Laden over to Clinton. This has been proven false by the 9/11 Commission, yet people still believe it.
A link for those who accuse me of lying:

I really believe that all of the talking heads that you see in the media today are divisive. We are really a country divided. I really think the media is thriving on this.

agreed... but I also think Rush does the same... but not to the same degree...
I mean... but, on one hand... being a political commentator is difficult... you usually only have a little bit of time to explain a situation... and it's hard to give everyone a fair shake with a sound byte...
(did I just defend Hannity... what the H is going on?)

Sells books and gets ratings, trouble is some people believe his B.S. That is where I have a problem. I find it funny that you respect a dope addict. Who is also a big fat liar and makes a living doing the same thing as Sean Hannity. Complex.

Sean Hannity might be a "divisive"person, but he is voicing his opinion.Comparing him to the likes of Michael Moore, who is nothing more than a high paid liar,is ridiculous.

Hannity changed into attempting to get his question responded and he genuinely did not say toddlers who attend this church should not be president. notwithstanding, Wright's church ought to lose that's tax exempt status. And Alan's questions about McCain, Parsley and Hagee did not even make experience. McCain hasn't had a 20 year. closeness with both of those adult men. there isn't any evaluation. Hannity is in simple terms divisive between conservatives because he's lost quite some them as his target market.

All Sean does is just tell the truth.
His sound bites of what Democrats said, is:
exactly what they said.
