I found a 5 inch one at a pawn shop, the guy wanted 110 bucks, i offered 60. he wouldnt take it.
i made the same offer once per month for 6 months.
finally they had a sale, it was going for 70 bucks,

If you don't mind a Dobsonian mount, you can get a 10" from Orion at www.telescope.com for around $530
Here is the exact scope:
http://www.telescope.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=233735&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=4&iSubCat=9&iProductID=233735
It is a good quality scope but as with the case of most Dobs you don't get a motor to keep your objects in view and will have to manually move the scope, which will eliminate most astrophotography options.
If you are interested in the motor or any computer/GPS options than the scope would be in the $1500-3000 range depending on the type of scope purchased.
Your only other option might be a used scope if you want to stay in the 10" range.

The previous answers that named Zhumell, Orion, and Celestron are the ones you want to consider. Let me add that 10" is a hefty hunk of telescope and you should check the weight and whether you are willing to lug it around very often. I used to own a 10" dobsonian for many years but eventually sold it and bought an 8" which is a lot easier to casually take out and observe with. So consider that, especially if this is your first telescope.

Zhumell 10 inch dobsonian reflector is available for right around $500. Quite good quality, certainly for the price.
Otherwise, used.
