Have the days of the traditional Record store (hey when was the last time you even played a LP or 45? ) past? Have Wal-Mart & the I-pod killed the music speciality stores in general? Toy stores are already having the same type troubles...

Doesn't suprise me any. The music business is having a really tough time, and it's a trickle effect. Most people want mp3's now, which really doesn't help sell CD's. Then you throw in the fact that Wal Mart sells CD's lower than what Sam Goody would sell a CD for. Most people would take what Wal Mart has to offer rather than an actual music store. I can't say I blame them.

I think it's a prime example of what happens when times change and companies don't.

The internet and Wal-Mart have changed the face of business in the U.S. and the shake out is far from being over. Even the Politicians are starting to realize that the Internet Generation is not as easily fooled as the predicessors because the truth is out there... and that's something the Politicians can't handle.

These are interesting times to be living in.

I think the industry as a whole (music industry), had to much money flowing to it. Now that there isn't as much profit, they have to work harder at making a buck, which "hopefully" will bring in more talent. I doubt it, but one can always hope.

In other words, it could be a good thing.

They brought it upon themselves; their cds were too damn expensive.
The last itme I played an LP was about a month ago... I still have 'em! And I really miss 45s.
