A couple of points: Jewish boys, and many other Eastern Countries boys, get circumcised. The loose skin at the top of the penis is removed surgically. Some African tribes circumcise young girls whereby the clitoris is removed. There is a sway of opinion against this practice and it is rare. Some grown men develop penis problems which require circumcision in later life. It is then a dangerous operation.
Castration: Castration is seldom if ever practiced now. Many years ago, some singers were castrated as boys to retain their vocal ability and they were known as Castratos. (A male singer castrated before puberty so as to retain a soprano or alto voice). Eunuchs, (a castrated man employed as a harem attendant or as a functionary in certain Asian courts) were also castrated. There is a group of people in India who do self castration.

You probably meant to ask why boys are circumcised at birth, right? Otherwise i have no idea in what country they would do this. I do know that circumcising boys at birth is part of certain cultures. Another reason is hygenical reason, such as prevention of infection. In some African countries, they do somewhat "castrate" the girls so that they do not become tempted and have the pleasure out of sex. Sometimes they cut off the clitt, or sew the vagina together. I don't know about you, but i find that to be very disturbing.

Boys are not castrated at birth. Many boys are circumcised. This involves removal of the foreskin and does not affect their sexuality. These are very different procedures.

castratiom is removal of the testicles, which prohibits one from impregnating females; circumscision is removal of the foreskin, usually performed for religious or hygenic reasons. many feel it is easier to keep the penis clean if one does not have to remember to pull back the foreskin and wash underneath it (think of how kids forget to wash behind their ears) and also that it reduces the liklihood of infections. it is usually done in infancy due to both religious and sociallly accepted practice, one theory being that having it done so soon the pain or experience in general is not remembered, unlike getting it done later. some grown men who have not been cut choose to do so later in life for the above-mention hygeine reasons as well as a theory that it makes a difference in sensation....

Baby boys are not castrated at birth. I think you are referring to circumcision which is the removal of the foreskin on the penis and does not effect the testicles or reproduction.
Male puppies are sometimes castrated and this involves removal the the testicles which renders them sterile or unable to perform sexually. It is not the same procedure.

in short, (pardon my pun) they are not castrated...only the exess skin is removed from the end of the penis. This is called CIRCUMCISION. It is done today for HYGIENIC reasons... to avoid infections later in life.......... I've know 5 young men who have had to have this surgery later in life.............. a much more emabarassing procedure THEN,,, for sure!

Might be it is a taboo in some of the world. Very few boys are getting done. Others are not at all affected. I suppose it is being done some religion and that to in few locations of the world. Nothing is going to happen.
