If it's applied topically to the scar within a year after the wound, it will significantly reduce the dark color and size of the scar. Look for Vitamin E oil in heath food stores (usually they have a beauty section), vitamin stores, or sometimes it is even in drug stores in the vitamin section.

Keep in mind that the vitamin E you purchase in the store to take orally is NOT that vitamin E that will do a thing for a scar. It's different form of vitamin E... go with the cocoa butter idea if it's a "new" scar.

From experience at trying to get rid of a scar and trying Vitamin E, unfortunately you need to start right from the start. I also tried using the scar reduction patches advertised by Elastoplast but the cost was just too high for me. In adverts they have shown this patch to work on a facial scar.

Vitamin E can be found in any drug store near the vitamins. Ask store clerks or the pharmacist. It usually comes in a small bottle just a few inches tall.
It does work if you rub in a small drop on all of your scars. Don't expect it to work immediately, but you will see a difference after putting it on nightly for about 8 weeks.

I had a recent wound and doctor advised me to rub Vitamin E oil on it. You can get this at any pharmacy and some stores. This oil you just rub on as any cream. Regarding your scar- if it's a old one I am not sure if it will help as it usually is used with new scarring, but you can always ask the doctor.

I had this really bad red spot that was also indented scar - I tried this stuff that I bought at sephora and it really really helped a lot! I can't even notice it anymore and I don't need to put a pound of concealor to hide it! There is collagen in it and it helped raise the scar as well as take the red out. It's a little pricey but It did the trick :)

Yes. I had several scars on my hands & I took Vitamin E for severals months & noticed they were gone. I'm not guaranteeing it will work for you but you can give it a try. You can pop the pill with a needle or pin & apply it directly or you can ingest it.

You can find Vitamin E anywhere...grocery stores, herb shops, drugstores, Target, K-mart, etc.

Cocoa Butter is the best thing for scars, but try to keep the sun off of it. The sun will make the scarring worse.
