Richard Wagstaff Clark was born November 30, 1929 in Mount Vernon, New York. Clark attended Syracuse University where he majored in advertising with a minor in radio. As host to the first network television series devoted to rock and roll and the longest running musical show in television history, American Bandstand, Dick Clark made rock music palatable to the mainstream American public and help promote the careers of many rock and roll artists of the 50s, both the talents and no talents.
See source for where that came from.
Dick Clark has hosted the Time Square (New York City) New Years Eve ball drop for many MANY years. He is alway "hip" to the latest trends and musical talents and one reason he is considered the oldest teenager, is because as years go by, he never EVER seems to age. He looks like he did a half century ago.

Wow, you must be really young. My daughter is almost 20 and knows who Dick Clark is. He was the one who did this show called American Bandstand. It was aired on tv and anybody's danced on the show. There was always special guest singing. Some of the biggest groups etc.
Years and years he is the one who was at TImes Square when the ball dropped at midnight to bring in the New Year.
He's done many other things and has been a fantastic entertainer to follow. Why not do a search online of him and see if you can find info that will make you familiar with him.

Way back in the 1960's,we would get home from school, and there was this program on TV called American Bandstand, and Dick Clark would play the latest hits and have guest singers there, and regular teenage dancers, it was a great time had by all.
His looks have not changed, although he has really aged.

He's this really old guy who used to host American Bandstand. American Bandstand was one of the original teenage dance shows where they would premiere new records and artists. For, like, 50 years he didn't age at all. It was totally creepy! Now, all of the sudden, Dick Clark has gotten really old and decrepit, but he's still a musical and television icon.

you must be very, very, very young!!!! in the 1950's he started a dance show called American Bandstand and played music and teenagers danced. It also had stars of the time play live on the show, which would jumpstart their careers. That show lasted till the 80's I think. Then he had a show called Bloopers. He is called the oldest teenager cause he never seems to age! Hope that answeres your question.
