Without them the United States would be speaking Japanese or German as the National language right now. Goes hand in hand with; If you don't stand behind our U.S. Military men and woman, feel free to stand in front of them...

I think it is a limited statement. Obviously I assume you are talking about the USA, and not veterans of Nazi Germany or Communist China, which are not free countries yet also have had militaries.
I also seem to recall the importance of our freedom being that all the military serves the country through the leadership of elected CIVILIANS as the President is the Commander in Chief and only the Congress can declare war and assess the taxes to pay for it. So, while veterans deserve great credit for their sacrifice, no American soldiers take up arms without civilians.

I think that's from a wise man.
Its full of insight...
veterans were not mere talkers, they followd what they believed with actions to match, I salute all those who paid the supreme price to ensure freedom today,
may all those who enjoy such freedom(s) today remember that they should not take it for granted.
we owe our freedom also to those who had gone ahead.
thank you for the statement, great reminder.
though not an american, but we also hv our veterans in africa too.

I think it is absolutely true. We do far too little to thank those who have fought for the rest of us. I have created and maintain three websites for units stationed in Iraq. Upon the return of one of those units, I was presented with an American flag which flew over their base at Camp Liberty in Iraq and a certificate to thank me for helping to keep them in touch with their family and friends stateside. All I could think was that "I'm not worthy!" That flag is now one of my most prized possessions.

Yeah...if it weren't for them, we wouldn't have the freedom to debate over political issues like we do.
