For the Chinese and Koreans, primarily because of WWII, but it stems a little beyond that actually. Not only did the Japanese slaughtered millions of Chinese and Koreans, but as a collective society, they still seem to deny it - as seen in the whole issue of their textbooks not mentioning such events. The Japanese are definitely nervous about China because of its potential of leaping over Japan in terms of economics and political domination in the SE Asia region.

I don't know about Korea but for the China part, some Chinese dislike Japanese because Japan had invaded China in World War 2

The answer is pretty obvious: because of World War II.
EDIT: Seems like some don't know the link between Korea and Japan, the answer is because the Japanese army made many Korean women and girls work as 'comfort women' to satisfy the needs of the Japanese soldiers and officers.

I know it was explained to me because the Japanese has domination issues, they want to dominate, and the same goes for the Chinese and Koreans, thats how it was explained to me.

I think because Japan is modern now and they are up with the other Nations. China and Korea are communists and are still in the 19th century ( intended).. They want to rule the world now, or you could just say they are evil..
