poverty creates crime...it's been proven. That is why crime rates in poor urban communities are typically through the roof especially compared to other, more affluent communities. It starts off with a poor community which can't afford proper education...the children of that community grow up thinking it is impossible to make anything of their lives and so they turn to gangs or street crime to try and find their "calling." this increases the amount of crime dramatically.

I have heard the same theory, and my deduction is that there is another preface to the statement. Lack of education creates crime creates poverty. Because there are a few criminals, the smart ones apparently, that do not fall into the poverty catagory. But the uneducated who live in poverty continue their criminal ways and are just not smart enough to see that it doesn't seem to be getting them anywhere.

I do not agree with that statement, unless its a question in a form of a statement. Povery creates crime, if there was no poverty there would be no excuse for crime

no i think poverty lead to the crime.when the number of people who are not able to earn their bread are more they think in a criminal way in order to satisfy their needs.in a way crime also creates poverty bcoz the criminals use the resourses against the mankind.they try to destroy the comforts/things made for the use or livelihood of mankind.both are correct but i think poverty is the main cause of crime

I don't think money eliminates crime...look at all the white collar criminals, pedophiles, etc. I think it is the break down of the family, and lack of shame for committing crime in society. The consequences of crime are less severe, therefore people have less of a reason NOT to commit crimes.
