Perhaps, having read your question completely, you are proving your name "too much wisdom" and let me add to it that "excess of everything is bad!!

BTW, 1st class has nearly been phased out in Indian Railways replaced by air-conditioned coaches of various levels.

I suggest you should take INDRAIL PASS available for foreign tourist upto 90 days. A/C Class fair for 90 days in USD 1060 , First class AC 2 Tier/ AC3Tier/ AC chair car USD 530.00 ,Sleepar class USD 235.00 Pl check fare on Railway site.

You can also book Circular Journey Ticket available for who wish to go on sightseeing trips.

You can also stay at Railway Retiring Rooms, Also you can travel during night and save hotel expences.

When you talk about lady companion, your intention is malafide and insulting to Indian women as a whole. Why don't you get your ***hole f---ed by a male?

see earlier advice, in addition I would go by second class sleeper, you meet locals and they make you feel very welcome. if you only have 6 weeks, consider flying to some places (Mumbai to Goa about £15) as it can be cheaper than a 3 month railcard (try spicejet.com)
Enjoy and good luck
