Inbetween the tunnel sections are what they call expansion joints, similar to what they use on Bridges that contract and expand depending on tempreture, with the movement being so small in human life spans these joints are flexible enough to allow an inch or two of movement and they can always add another section if needed in 2000yrs,good question!

The drift is so slow that the working life of the tunnel will be long over by the time it's moved far enough to present a problem.

The drift is so slow that we won't have to do much about it for a bit. Maybe they made the tunnel out of elastic? Might have a problem with snap back though.

The southern end of the uk is sinking into the sea and the northern end of the uk is rising due to the loss of weight on the land from the last ice age. I thought we were heading south. The channel tunnel was designed to be self cleaning.

The channel Tunnel was designed with this in mind and it's so slow it's not a problem.
