Men are financially self-sufficient and society doesn't expect them to be head of a household and look after a family any more. What do they need women for? Surely they are better off just going out with the latest pretty young thing just for sex. Why would they need to be in long term relationships where their partner will just get saggy and old?

seriously, as a man who has been married for 14 yrs i can tell you that without my wife i would be lost, totally.
ok, i'm sure i could still go out and "pull" if necessary, but having a partner to discuss anything and everything with is important, and (for me) essential
if it isn't important to you, then don't bother getting married
btw, isn't it the same for women? what do you need men for? most of the women i know are or were financially self sufficient, and men only get bald and beer guts as they get older...if you look after yourselves, even over 40's (50's even maybe) can go out and pull if all they want/need is sex

You make getting older sound like a bad thing. Hey, the guy is going to age also. I'm 45 and fortunately I still look good. But I would hope that a man would love me for my heart and NOT my looks. What it all boils down to is Yes, a man can live without a woman, and vice versa, but life is so much more enriched when you have that special someone to share it with.

when guys are young thats genrally what and all they ever think about ie sex.as they mature becouse us ladies mature much faster than lads and we are much more emotional.they need a woman emotionally 4 support,and have a need to feel loved,and cared 4 especialy men in there 30s and 40s.in there teens and 20s men genrally just want sex.

Yes, sex is our achillies heel, but I'd like to think that we do it for our offspring, to give them a secure environment and have them learn moral values(then let them decide whether to trash them or not). I suppose companionship comes into play, but I'd prefer variation..Then again we are hopeless romantics, forever in search of the one.

men dont even need gf for sex anymore with fwb and other easy girls in society
but a relationship brings much to a man and they need companionship and someone who knows them to make them feel needed and complete in a family or relationship
I chose an older woman myself because she was so much more understanding
