I was working in a sales call center at the time. I heard one of the other reps say that a plane had hit the first tower. At first it seemed like it was a small, private plane. Later the second tower was hit and it became obvious that it was an attack. The rest of the morning was a blur of me trying to reach my brother in NYC. He worked near the UN at the time and that morning it didn't seem unreasonable that whoever targeted the Twin Towers could also target the UN. Once I reached him and found out he was fine I spent the rest of the morning in my VP's office watching the coverage on a TV he had.

I was actually in between jobs then, and so I was at home asleep. My best friend called me up and said to turn on the television, she wouldn't say why, so first thought is something happened to one of my family members and they were showing it on the news...so I turned on the television just in time to see the 2nd plane fly into the 2nd tower. I was dumbfounded....and after watching for a few hours, I drove to my parents home and we watched it together. Will never forget what I was doing and where I was living. Oh, on a side note, I lived underneath a runway near Dallas/Fort Worth airport, and when they stopped the planes that day it was so erie...so quiet when there were usually planes taking off and landing every 5 minutes.

I was here in Texas, at work and listening to the radio.
We had some people at work that had family in New York and they totally freaked out. Which I do not blame them at all. If I had of had family in that area I would have been freaking to.

We all stopped working and said a prayer for the victims.

ok this is reallly sad...:

I live in Harrisville, RI
9/11 was my moms birthday... and we were giving her an early birthday present in the morning... but she wanted to watch the news first. Then we were begging her to open it and the tv was still on and as soon as she opened the present a plane crashed!! we were all crying and worried cause my cousin-in-law was in the 1st tower on the 48th floor (i think :o) and we thought she could have died... (but she didn't :D YAY) and now anytime everyone asks for my moms birthday and i tell them they are like "OMG I FEEL SO BAD!!"

And thats my story... hope u liked it...

I had just been discharged fro m hospital after spending nearly three weeks here after having an operation for Bladder Cancer.
The scale of this atrocity took a little while to sink in with me .
You would think with all of the power the U.S.A. and their allies they would have been able to bring these sons and daughters of Satan to the justice they so richly deserve .

I was in school, my nanny told me in an odly bright tone that the icons of america had just gone down in flames. I live in morristown new jersey, so if I got on the deck of an old friend who used to live behind me on a hill, you could see the smoke for about a week.

i was at school in a physics lesson, and all the teachers were buzzing about, having heard, so they turned a tv on and we all crowded round it. then when i got home, we were getting new windows put in, so the glaziers were all standing round watching the tv and we had a big hole in the wall... but i guess on a day like that, trivial things don't really matter. can't believe its 5 years next month.

I was at work, and my mom called and said "we are at war!" My boss was cool and let us listen to the radio that day, so we could find out what was going on. I would honestly be surprised at anyone whom does not remember where/what they were when they heard!
