My choice as favorite Bond performer:

1) Timothy Dalton ; I know, he's everyone's worst choice for all sorts of reasons, mostly because it seems his second stint as Bond in "Licence To Kill" ended end being a commecial disaster, but in my book, he had the flair, the style, the body language and the self-confidence to be a great Bond, in the true sense of the word. That's my top Bond.

2) Sean Connery : Although portraying the character back in an era where mysogeny and sexist attitudes were absolutly accepted in the film world (and in reality too), Sean had everything going for him. Too bad that people automatically associated him with the character he played on a few gigs.

3) Pierce Brosnan : My wife loves him but I found him to physically fit the profile while being way too distant and cold in his performance, not in the character interpretation. Sure, folks will say that international superspy James Bond needs to be cold since he can't allow personnal feelings to come into play, he still was too cold & "calculated" to be "human". Let me just say Pierce's interpretation felt rehearsed more than natural.

4) Roger Moore : Obviously my least favorite performer to play Bond, even though he did play in some of my favorite Bond films ever. All I can say about Roger Moore is that his version of Bond seemed to rely more on his gadgets than his knowledge of "all things spy".

Cheers

Cant decide between Connery or Moore.
These 2 were by far the best. The Bond films from the 80's onwards are no where near as good as the early ones. I think the whole Bond thing was best suited to the 60's and 70's.

Definitely Roger Moore. He had more about him and pulled off the humorous gags a lot better than his contenders. Plus Sean Connery is Scottish and Bond has to be English so Roger wins!

To be quite honest, although George Lazenby was slagged off wholesale, the other Bonds were sexist, nasty pigs (especially when Moore forged a packet of tarot cards to get Jane Seymoure to lose her virginity) and in real life Connery is proud to boast about giving his women a good slap(!) Lazenby was a gentle, kind Bond who married his girl in the end and also was seen to cry. Good on you George!

I would have liked to have seen Pierce Brosnan doing the Sean Connery films of years ago. Best of both worlds!

There'll only ever been one James Bond and that was Sean Connery.

Pierce Brosnan (possible incorrect spelling) was the best all around...and no, Im not intimidated by Roger Moore or Sean Connery "just cuz they came first"...they can kiss it, all I care...Pierce was the smoothest/hardcore of the lot of them. Hands. Down.

Sean Connery by a long way. Roger Moor is just a gay man's fantasy!!!

Piers Brosnan didn't make enough of them to show off how good he was.
