How do you know if it's real? It happens in Survivor and Big Brother. But some showmance fail like Will and Shannon and Eric and Lisa. But some are real like Survivor's Rob and Amber. Now we have Boogie and Erika and Willl and Janelle. What's your opinion of showmance vs. real romance? Is it really real or fake just for TV, when the season is over, it ends.

Boogie and Erika were dating before the start of the show so they are really feeling each other. Janelle and Will are playing each other. People know the love is real is when they look like they are in love when they see each other. Erika and Boogie look like they are. Janelle and Will don't look like they are in love. Its better to get together after the show so we don't have to trash the couple but if they do decide to date its good for them and for us on TV.

I think it can be a little of both,, I mean I know that a few times I have started a new job,, or did a confrence, you are always drawn towards ppl you connect with. I can only imagine when you are in a situation where there's even more stress and pressure to be " pretty TV" that you will do just about anything.

The other thing with most of these shows is it's the first time in their lives that most of these ppl have been away from their families for more than a few days,, and that makes them very lonely and vunerable to any attention.
But then the reality of real life comes back when they leave the s how and they realize that person only knew part of them,, and unless they work hard to share the rest of themselves then there's nothing to build on.

that's my soap box for today

fake, fake, fake....they do what they can to make it further in the show, also it most cases the "showmance" fits their needs for the time being, but once out of the house, in the real world, it doesn't fit

I think in Will and Boogies case it is purely strategical, they think that having the girls on their side will help them get further and then the first chance they have to boot them off the will.

I think it is a stress romance, where circumstances bring them together, but the situation, when resolved, will cause it to fail
