This site makes it's money putting spyware on your computer, True you have to agree to this before entering Kazaa but many kids do not read it because it's so long & do not realise it will totally screw your computer up (or the school computer).

I agree with you sly. I had kazaa even before they had spyware and it was free.
I recommended it to my sister and it tore up her pc.
I was totally in disbelief. Then i was told i had to upgrade mine by kazaa. Lo and behold i got bad prbs too. Had to put mine in the shop. Spyware and adware should be illegal. Its not just kazaa but it does seem to be very malicious on that site.

Kazaa may have gone legal recently but that has nothing to do with spyware issues. Whenever you surf the net and enter various website you take some risks and have to expect that you may get a virus and/or spyware infections so as a rule or PC users should install a good virus software AND a good SPYWARE software to ensure their computer stays safe and vets and monitors these sorts of things happening. You simply cannot rely on sites telling you about the spyware they have associated with their website.

Kazaa went legal a couple of months ago (paying royalties to artists with licensed music downloads)...it's safe.

Lots of so called 'free' sites make their money putting spyware or adware on your pc! That's why we run anti spyware and anti adware software, and take basic precautions before connecting.
The internet is not free, its very expensive for any company to write and distribute software. Servers, their software, and their broadband connections are really expensive but we all expect free web space. And free technical support.
Just get some good security software and be careful where you visit , what you download and where you dowwnload it from.
