r0bErT4u's suggestion is absolutely correct, Raj. What I would add, however, is that if you make a direct cable connection between the two laptops you will need a cross-over CAT5 cable. You must mention this when purchasing, otherwise you'll be given a straight CAT5 cable.

use a cat5e crossover ethernet cable from amazon.

Just plug the ends into both computers ethernet ports

u will have to use any networking device, may be lan or you can chk if can get IRs installed on both the systems, however using IRs is not tht comfortable.
