Like everyone said, it depends where you want to wear them. Sporty = sneakers, party = heels, etc. Here's a great website w/ tons of shoes that you can look through for the style you like and pick the one you like with your dad when he's taking you to get them:

there's 3 kinds, Flat, small heal, and big heal, if in your collection you have only 1 type, or don't have 1 type, don't change unless your wanting to go through the pain of the swap over, once you wear heals for long enough, your feet adapt, but if you drop back into flats, it doesn't take long before wearing heals really kills your feet again.
For best choice of shoe, pick a pair that you know you'll wear loads, bear in mind your wardrobe, no good buying green shoes if you don't have anything they go with, best for practicality is usually black, goes with everything, and is slimming, also silver or golds a good alternative (more silver)
