Giving, because the more you give the more you get. It makes me feel great to give someone something that they may not be able to get for themselves. I like doing and giving things for others. It makes me feel good when their face lights up with a great big smile. We both get something out of it!

Yes, there is more happiness in giving than in receiving because our nature is to serve. The highest happiness in this world is what comes closest to self-less service to others. Everyone is serving someone or some thing, ie, their sense gratification, and this is our eternal occupation or dharma in the Sanskrit language. When people get old and their children are grown and gone, they get a dog or a cat and serve them. Its our natural position to serve. But even though its a higher pleasure to serve rather than be served, we still don't get the kind of pleasure from mundane service that really makes up happy, ie, full satisfaction and bliss. That kind of pleasure is only available when we are serving the Supreme. Our eternal constitutional position is to be the servants of the Supreme Lord. When we're acting in that capacity, we will forget all material so-called pleasures because we will be completely filled with transcendental ecstasy. Right now we're like fish out of water trying to happy. The little of bit of temporary pleasure we get are like little bubbles of air that keep us going a little longer. Not until we return to our natural consciousness of serving the Lord to fulfill His desires will we really experience what it means to happy giving. And the Lord reciprocates completely with His devotee so that the devotee has no needs, desires or hankerings for anything on his own account.
The difference between a human and an animal is that a human being can inquire about the purpose of life and begin the process of self-realization, whereas an animal has no ability to do that. And if a human doesn't inquire about his eternal spiritual nature and has no interest in God consciousness, he is no better than an animal.

While receiving, only the receiver is joyed. In giving, the giver is enjoying the joy of the receiver. Moreover, sharing with the society with your possessions seems a thing of distant past. Today man has islanded himself in a shell of I, me and myself.

Yes I agree with you, there is more happiness in giving than receiving. But to give first you should have. To have you should collect. Then why to collect only to give. Then the one to whom you propose to give should also collect. Hence don't give any thing without any reason and efforts. What ever one gets without putting efforts, doesn't have value. Hence to a thing its right value one should get it with due efforts. Have I exceeded?

Yes there is more happyness to giving ...the problem is...to whom will you give ? Most people dont understand what you give them...because they are not the right ones...so....only if you find the right person to give to ...then happyness is there..:)

i'd say that yes, giving does give pleasure, but you are happier (if only for a minute) when you get something.

yes, surely. Because when we get we are more greedy, but when we recieve we are satisfied and satisfaction reaches ultimate goal of human life-happiness.Dogs too get the same and are more worthy than we humans because of their pure faithfulness.
