The financial aid office at the school you attend should be able to help you locate scholarships based on merit instead of family income.

dude, join the club.I am in the same dilemma. My dad makes more than most people make in a life time, there are four of us going to schools which on paper costs abt 15k but when added up costs twice that much and I can't get financial aid for nothing. Try a stafford unsubsidized loan. You pay it back AFTER you graduate with interest. Not the best, but good enough.I only get 5000 a semester and my tuition alone is more than that.My parents juggle the rest. OR if your parents' credit is good, they can get PLUS loans.I also have to agree with the first person. We all have loans. The average AMERICAN .family has a debt of 20k,so that is not a valid excusE.You can also,if you're 24 at least claim yourself on a tax return and file for a loan as an independent

move out from your parents home for 2 years, live on your own pay your own bills, supporting yourself completely...then student aid will look at your income and not that of your parents. Also if you leave home and join the military...that will get you out of the house and on your own along with Education money also.

Don't be so greedy.
Lots of students don't have fomilies in high income groups.
They may need a grant much more than you.
Let me guess, you are American? Right?
