It's too early to say that there's a season fall of Lost. Probably. But this season starts in October and split into two parts. They air the first eight episodes for this year and the rest in the spring, due to placing a midseason replacement in January for 13 weeks. ER is doing the same thing. I'll be posting a question on that soon.

Yes, the first new episode will be Oct. 4th. (don't know if you are in the U.S. or not)
The week before they will show the beginning of the series. Starting Oct. 4th it will run for 6 weeks, and then start again in January.
