The wording to this question, and most of the answers here show a lack of actual understanding of both Theories of Relativity and no understanding of Quantum Physics......otherwise your answers would be different. I'd suggest you go and read up on Relativity and Quantum Physics carefully. You'll see where you're in error in what you say here. Needless to say, Einstein said that an object travelling within space itself can't travel AT the speed of light. General Relativity doesn't preclude travelling faster on a global scale (which is the scale it deals with), and Special Relativity (which is in fact a subset of the General theory) only precludes superluminal velocities on a local scale. Space itself can travel at any velocity it wants...... Einstein saw nothing wrong with this. Even SR has equations within it which must satisfy velocities faster than light for particles and/or objects. They just can't travel as slow as lightspeed and have some properties contrary to what we think of as being "normal".
Then you have all the multidimensional and multi-universal twists and turns of Quantum Physics to deal with, which for instance removes the "Grandfather" paradox as a consequence of time travel. In actual fact, time as we know it is an illusion. It doesn't exist as we perceive it. It's not a dimension as we understand what a dimension is. That was a big mistake of Einstein's, though we still have a long way to go before we truly understand what it is.
I could explain this more fully, but it's better for you all to learn about this yourselves, then ask questions later on about what you've learnt.

We don't know how to beat the speed of light. Einstein's equation E = mc2 (energy equals the mass times the speed of light,c, squared) is a formula for converting matter to energy that has been proved valid. If the speed of light can be exceeded that suggests there would be a different conversion factor for energy to mass or vs versa. And you would have to prove that in the lab before you can prove that there is time travel related to the speed of light, right? That's a tough assignment. Good luck.

No, and no.
Time travel into the past would cause paradoxes (go back and kill your grandparents before they have kids, for example).
Travel at the speed of light takes more energy than exists in the universe.... even if you only tried to accelerate an electron. (Although, since they are very small, physicists can accelerate subatomic particles very close to the speed of light, 99.999999999% or so. But *NOT* 100%.) If you tried with a larger object, it would take still more energy.

This is a repetitive topic and it should be understood that travel faster than light is impossible. Therefore it follows that the question is based upon a fantasy. If a traveller was to move at close to the speed of light RELATIVE TO YOU, then his time would stop RELATIVE TO YOU. As far as he was concerned however he would notice no difference in the rate at which time passes. Your time would stop RELATIVE TO HIM but again you would notice no change.

try look ing up the multi-verse theory, or string theory. new experiments that have been done indicate that our world isn't exactly the ways its seems. if you look up a guy named john titor, you might find this useful... or sceptical. he is a professed time traveller from the year 2036. he's posted pictures of his "time machine". and a manual that comes with it. he also posted very advandced pictures of how time travel works and he explains how it works . he has predictions for the near future. one is that the u.s. will enter into a civil war, due to the fact that the government will start to strip away your citizens individual rights, under the disguise of national security. he was online from 2000 to 2001 and the guy dissapeared before sept 11. and well before the induction of the patriot act. i can see his predictions already coming into the light. this guy is definetly worth looking at

It depends on how you define time travel. If time travel to you means that you could slow down time or make time goes faster.. then yes.. time travel IS possible. But if you want to go back to time and to the future is somewhat impossible. It is like finding an elixir of life. Just a fantasy..

I don't suppose you can go back to the past or to the future; that's just impossible.. But maybe it's possible to just slow the time down or make it run fast ???
I guess no one really has an answer for this.. Not until someone has done it..

no if you can beat light you can only look back in time but you cannot be physically back in time.
