Armageddon

You know that is a good question! I will give you my viewpoints:

1. I do not see a gathering of the world's religious leaders trying to work out the differences.

2. I do not see the King of Saudi Arabia, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque making a statement in regards to peace. And I do not see him on the world stage encouraging Muslims not to follow the declaration of war against Christians and Jews that was given to Osama bin Laden by Islamic Spiritual Leaders.

3. I do not see the PLO or Hamas in Palestine or the Gaza Strip building schools, or providing jobs for the 68% unemployed. I only see the young people on the streets waiting to throw rocks at Israeli Patrols.

So my answer is that there will be none, not until the time that all Arab Leaders come to realize that Israel has the right to exist, that the Jewish people escaped not only slavery in Egypt, but have been persecuted their whole lives long.

But Israel also must understand that mass bombings of civilian targets can not be tolerated, and accept the fact that Palestine should be an independent state.

A civil war among the Palestineans leading to the ouster of terrorist groups like Hamas & Hezbollah from positions of political power, eventually resulting in a real Palestinian state of some sort that's recognized by most other nations and has representation within the U.N. Also, a change of leadership in Israel- the current bunch has no credibility after their horrible handling of the recent Lebanon conflict.

Of course Israel would probably have to relocate to the Arctic Circle before the other Arab states would stop blaming it for every problem in the world, from hunger to earthquakes. On second thought- no... If they moved there, Jordan & Syria would blame them for the shrinking polar icecaps, Iran would insist that they're ruining the earth's natural rotation...

Ultimately it will take a major change of opinion on both sides.

75 million Europeans died before the Jewish question could be solved.
Arab/Israeli conflict? I shudder b4 God to think of the end to that conflict.
Israel could make it easier, give up lands that does not belong to her in return for a guarantee
of peace and security. That will never happen because of the very make up of Israeli body politik; fatal attraction to other peoples land and water.

You line up all the Arabs and all the Jews.. and give everyone else in the world a paddle.. and spank all the cry babies. Just because some book said one person gets the land.. and another book says someone else gets the land.. get over it. Bury the hatches, and get on with your lives. I think the whole area should be blocked off from everyone till they all learn to get along.

i think it is ingrained conflict that Will never stop . until Israel relax and calm down . this nation is , really a nation of ppl who are not aware of the proportion of what they are doing. there are those psychiatrists who believe that Israel is Nation of ppl who need Psychiatric help. i am not calling them crazy , but i think there is thing in the back of each Israeli , that they are targeted and that they are to be subjected to more pain . that is why they are over protecting and belligerent

It will take revolutionary Christian, Jewish and Muslim (using those terms simply to avoid naming all the countries) atheists to persuade their cultures that their religions are a scourge of humanity. It will end when people lead them in a new way toward a more enlightened and rational social order, perhaps based on science and democracy.
