SO you watched one episode of the show and have determined that the show is racist ?? The taping of a single episode of COPS takes them up to a week of taping. Not all nights on patrol are as full and adventurous as they seem to be on the show. The reality of life is that depending on what area they are taping in will determine predominantly the race of the suspect. I will not go into the racial profiling or slandering against one race or another. The reality of the show is that it is still a TV show and they are going to show what they think the viewer want to see.

Most of the shows are taped in urban areas...by and large, urban areas are populated by black folks and other minorities. Seriously, how interesting would it be to watch cops arrest white kids in the suburbs for skateboarding on the sidewalk?

Damn racist shows. See, the problem is, they don't show people getting parking tickets, or driving with cell phones. No, they go after people being violent. I'm sure if they ran a show showing only people getting busted for tax-evasion.. it would be an all white show.. oh.. wait.. that's raciest too.. dangit.

I have seen all races on the show. They show you who they are arresting in that area. Could it be they were in a predominately black area?

Where were they filming? If the area in which they were film has a much higher precentage of African Americans there is a good chance it is going to be mostly African Americans that appear on the show.

I don't believe so. I would have the same argument to those who have issues with profiling. It is a fact that the majority of crimes committed in this country are done by minorities, especially blacks. Our society's failure to help minorities break the cycle of poverty and crime is another subject altogether.
