still cranks,but i wasnt getting spark, wiring harness and other connections shorted out, replaced w/h,amplifier,coil,rectifier,starter solenoid,checked ignition,am i suppose to be getting juice from points to amp.then to coil then to dist.then plugs? i have juice from ign. to amp! (But black/white wire from points to amp nothing but when i hook test lite there it'll putter once and i here the points click???)..cranks,but when you let up key it putters a'lil?and thats it. I havent been under flywheel to get to points yet,should i? and what should i look for?i got an old book on it,and trouble shooted some,but i need help bad,help,help,help!!!

more details,what exactly should i lok for? is that right that juice goes from points to amp,to coil,to dist,to plugs?what does rectifier do?,and how does points get juice?any local off duty mechanics in rio vista ,ca. area...??

Sounds like the points swing arm is rusted stuck and each time you touch black wire the condencer dishcharges. Get a puller and lift the flywheel carefully heavy.

pull the flywheel and replace the points

it is not juice.......that is your problem......it is electicity.............better to buy a yamaha............far more reliable and cheaper to maintain
