Without knowing more about the situation - it is hard to answer your question.

There are a couple of places that you can talk to and get information about what your next possible steps are. Some of these will be more helpful than others:
- State Employment office - unemployment division
- State Department of Labor and Industry
- Lawyer that specializes in employment law
- Union's national office

Once you have explored the possibilities of what CAN be done, you can then decide what you WANT to do - they are not always the same thing. Remember - sometimes things simply aren't worth the time and effort to fight.

Years ago, I was fired for calling in sick (I was in the hospital) and the union did nothing about it. This was clearly wrong and illegal on a number of different levels. Because the call was made from the hospital, it was also documented. Once I calmed down, I decided it just wasn't worth it and moved on. I am not saying that is goign to be right for you in this circumstance, but it needs to be on your list of options.

First go to ACAS they deal with internal disputes in the work place and attempt to sort them out before anything goes to court. they are often preventative of cases going to court. They are also very fair and dont take sides the look at both sides of each story and wieigh up the evidence and attempt to provide a situation where both employer and employee can come to an agreement for the best possible outcome. Failure to do so will however lead to an employment tribunal. Good luck
