FDR won 4 elections but that's mainly because of the war. And don't read the rubbish of limitations imposed. It was passed in 1953, long after FDR died.

And the Senate was led by Lyndon Johnson a Democrat (Senate Majority Leader). The decision to limit Presidential terms was passed with agreement from both sides, in both chambers.

Yes, Franklin D. Roosevelt.
He served four terms, but did not finish the last one, because he died in office. He was succeeded by his VP Harry Truman.
Roosevelt was elected four times in a row because of WWII going on and it is never a good idea to change horses in the middle of a race.
After WWII a law (the 22nd. Amendment to the Constitution to be exact) was passed that says:
"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."

Actually it was not too long to have a president for four terms, it was that people were fed up with someone who instituted his irrational policies. Now if we can do at least the same for congress, but I would suggest one term, they are far more harmful to this country than a president.
