In New York, there is a "Study Hall" program, for teachers who are not allowed to be near students because these teachers are predators, or "know where the skeletons are buried", and there is no assignment for them, they appear on time, sit for 7 hours each day, and then leave.

There are hundreds in dozens of rooms. Part of the Taxpayer's burden.

Moving towards their retirement pension, if they stick it out!

Have you considered furthering your education, on company time? It sounds like you have the time and perhaps your boss would support your efforts.
