Crime Syndicates have been around since the beginning of time. The use of the word MAFIA was once used only to define Italian Gangsters and only after 1910. Depending on your meaning, yes - - - there are definitely crime organizations in Britain and most likely one of them is managed by Italians. Peace.

The word Mafia has been used to describe any group that does crime. However, the true Mafia came from Sicily many years ago. The press liked the word so much that they attached on to every other group since then. However, to answer your question, unless they're Italians it's a want-a-be Mafia. It's just a bunch of folks doing crime.
