If you don't like him then you should tell him you don't like him in that way and he has no chance with you. That should turn him off. Then tell your friend that she should spend more time with him and get to know him herself rather than through you.

that happened to me one time, except the girl isnt my best friend, just a friend. with the relationship the three of you already have together, nobody should have a problem with all of you hanging out sometime. let the boy get to know you and your friend better, and secretly plan in advance for your friend to drop some hints that she might like him. unless you like him...that could bring up something completely different. but if this girl is your BFF, there should be no hard feelings, and you should be able to joke about it if it doesnt work out the way you wanted it to. like i said, this happened to me, and the boy is now MY boyfriend and the girl doesnt like him anymore. good luck!☺

The thing is you have to decide how important your friend is to you. Will she definitely be hurt if you had to get with this guy?
She's your bestfriend so probably yes.
Rather stay away from this guy. Tell your friend he's not worth it and she needs to move on.
You need to be there for her.
