It depends, if a husband is w*****g off to a mag in the bathroom would you consider him cheating on you with his right hand? Or left as the case maybe!
If he is looking at porn sites, talking to a girl, or watching a cam, its gross I agree but is it really cheating? Or just physical release.I think it becomes cheating if there is an emotional bond between the people doing it. But that’s just my opinion, and BTW I have been actually cheated on in the real World.

Yes it is adultery. But people don't believe in that if they do than their conscience will eat at them 24 / 7. People who does this form of adultery could care less for their soulmate , their values , for their lifetime commitment , for their children and God. Like they said there is no pillow so soft as a CLEAR conscience. What is your conscience telling you what you must do here. Do what is right and you know it . That is why you asked this question,

Could the person doing or watching the activity over the Internet...

do the same thing with their significant other, partner or spouse, sitting right there?

There's more to cheating than just the physical act; the heart and mind are also involved.

I would consider it adultry. If it were my husband doing this. I would be very hurt and consider him cheating on me. I have internet friends that are male but they are friends thats all. Put yourself in your husbands place and ask the question to yourself. I would end this before it blows up in your face. People have broken up marriages for this very reason and then regretted it later when mr on line lover turned out to be mr scumbag liar. A real man that loves you is always better than some illusion a person on line can give. Marriage is a promise to God to be faithful to this person. Do you feel you are being faithful to your husband? Just by asking this it is obviously bothering you. Be a good person and a good wife and end it before you lose what you have in reality to a fantasy . Good luck I hope you will be wise in what you do.

Adultery is usually sex with someone your not married to when your are married.

Last I knew it wasn't possible to have a sexual relationship over the Internet.

Now an affair is a different story. You can have an affair with someone of the Internet depending what your are talking or emailing to each other. Sexual thoughts and suggestions are one. Being secretive from you spouse, etc etc and etc.

By biblical standards it's adultry. But then again so it flirting with a co-worker or exposing your ankles to a member of the opposite sex in a luscuvious manner.
In legal terms no. Adultry is a physical act of romance just as consumating your relationship cannot be done online you must be in person to be a legal adulterer. Granted there is very little precidence in this compared to other divorce law so this isn't carved in stone just yet.

I guess it is - as loathe as I am to admit it. The act of emotionally or sexually bonding with someone other than your significant other is cheating - pretty much the same as adultery, even though it is not physically having sex with another person.

well you married well from what i know of it you took a vow depending on the wording to love honer and Cherish forsaking all others till death do you part, Well forsaking all others one would take to be that you remain faithful to one another. So i would say if you are married and you are conducting a distant relationship with someone on the net well you are breaking that part of your marriage vows, Some will say no you not there is no actual physical contact. But we seem to be living in a world of Self. i suppose the best way to judge the scale on this is to ask yourself how would you feel if your partner did it to you. , I would say to them then what do you say when your partner finds your correspondence.
All the things you saying on line you should be in fact saying to them, Then tell your self there is no harm done,
Not married myself. open to offers but that's my 2 cents worth
well below maybe if you not married you haven't if you are you should have and if you planing to you best do so
