It is possible you are in early labor. Especially if there is tightening in your belly & if you have a lower back ache. How often you are having them should determine whether you go into the hospital or not, but I would have my bag ready just in case. I would DEFINITELY call and at least talk to your nurse ... tell her exactly what's happening and she will advise you on what to do. GOOD LUCK!

I don't know why people get on here answering questions and freaking people out! If the cramps are regular (or any two are regular, since some people don't have regular contractions at all) then it's probably early labor. If the contractions aren't regular there's a large possibility it is just Braxton Hicks contractions (I had those for weeks before I was induced). But I would suggest that you either call the doctor or since you don't like that doctor, go to labor and delivery at your hospital and tell them you think you may be in early labor. They will have no problem hooking you up to the fetal monitor to tell you if you are. Pack a bag and have someone else drive you just in case you are...if you're only 37 weeks (unless you're almost 38 weeks) they will want you to stay. Just stay calm, getting upity during labor can make it longer and more painful....good luck and congrats!

If you don't like the other docs at the office, you should be able to call and discuss what you're feeling with the nurse or another doctor over the phone, who can pull your records and suggest if you need to be seen.
Probably just the curse of late pregnancy discomfort. I feel that way all the time toward the end. Try drinking a bit more water and going to the loo every 30 minutes or so, whether you have to go or not.

What you are having is called Braxton-Hicks Contractions very mild to moderate period cramping not much to fear. But if you notice any bleeding or if the cramps get stronger go to the E.R right away!!!

Honey. Go to the hospital now. LOL! GO! Get your stuff together and get there now!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL! Congratulations! You are right in the ballpark. Go now unless you don't mind having this little critter on your couch. Also, honey? All kinds of people you have never seen before in your whole life will be seeing your privates. Try to Poop before you go, and none of them will remember you in a couple of months. LOL! Good luck honey!!!!!!! GO NOW! They can tell you if it is false labor but it doesn't sound like it. You have been kinda keeping track how far apart they are, right? THE CLOSER TOGETHER THEY ARE, RUN!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you. Congratulations and get that epidural. Oh yeah, to get your epidural, you have to be there at least an hour ahead of time and for your first one? You will be glad you did. Hurry.

Are they coinciding with tightening of your uterus? If so, sounds like real contractions to me.
