Yes, simple! simple is beautiful! that goes for a speech, too! I recall the "Kiss" principle for good speech making: "kiss" stands for "Keep It Simple, Stupid"! I suggest you speak about what friendship has done to you, how much you value friendship, use some quotes (like: " A friend is one with whom you could spend time doing nothing, and still enjoy the time", "a friend in need is a friend indeed", etc.,). talk of some great friendships in History, in fiction (Tale of Two Cities! -- C Dickens), in mythology, if appropriate, and in recent popular novels, like Harry Potter series! You could talk of friendships at International levels, if the level of your talk is on that plane, or just make a mention of friendships at State levels!......Oh, there is so much you can talk: good luck!

FRIENDSHIP
If your talking about FRIENDSHIP, make that your topic. Nothing says more about friendship than the word itself. Let others know that to have a friend you need to be a friend. It's a 2-way street, and a friend is there for you no matter what as you are for them. Let them know that a friend is someone that cares for you, that knows about you inside and out. That takes the time to want to get to know you. But, at the same time you have to be willing to get to know them as well. That's where the 2-way street phrase comes in. Don't just tell someone you will be their friend and then use someone just because they have a car or money, that's NOT a friend. You wouldn't like it if someone treated you in this manner, so you would not like it if they did this type of thing too you. Just be there for each other, but you may want to start out slow. Take life as it comes, as with any friendship. If a friendship was meant too be, it will blossom into a wonderful thing. But a true friendship takes time and sometimes energy from both people.
