600min = $24 (divide by 600 to get one minute).
1min = $24/600
1min = $0∙04 (multiply by 450 to get 450minutes).
450min = $18∙00

(b)
560p = 10days (divide by 560 to get one page).
1p = 10/560
1p = 0∙017857142 (now multiply by 392)
392p = 7days.

24 / 600 = 0.04 per minute

0.04 x 450 mins = $18

560 / 10=56 so 56 pages a day

392 pages / 56 pages a day = 7 days

hope it helps!

1) if its $24 for 600 minutes, therefore, they are charged 0.04 per minute so for the next month if they use 450 minutes they will be charged $18

600 minute + $0.04 per minute = $24

450 minute + $0.04 per minute = $18

2) if she reads 560 pages in 10 days therefore she's reading 56 pages per day, so for 392 pages she can read it for 7 days

560 pages + 10 days = 56 pages per day

392 pages + 56 pages per day = 7 days

did you get it?

Alright, there is no formula, it is only in your mind.

For the first one, 600 minutes cost $24, so each minute costs 24/600 dollars, or 4 cents. 450 minutes would cost 450 x 0.04 dollars, $18.00. You can work out the second one.

1) Cost of surfing per min = $ 24/600 = $0.04 per min
Therefore for 450mins of usage = $0.04 x 450mins = $18

2)Assume average pages read per day :
560pages/10days = 56page per day

Therefore for 392pages : 392/56 = 7 days

I dont think you really need formulas to solve such problems...
