Nothing wrong with it per se, but usually means a corporate label will get the band to sell out. Look at Metallica. They produced their first few albums under their own terms, they went down in history as masterpieces, then they went corporate and each album was progressively worse. Once the cash starts rolling in, everything changes.

Well if the band gets famous they're obviously gonna change. Some bands can't handle the fame and end up becoming addicts or worse, and some end up with their writing suffering from the pressure to write something to beat previous work, so quit. Other than that it can be a good thing, depends on the band.

sold out came from punk, bands would be against big business, corporations, etc etc... then go and sign on a corporate multinational entertainment company. it hypocritical. but i think the phrase got spread to far, and is used to often with out really knowing what it really is.



like my stepson said Bam Margera sold out cuz hes doing pit **** commercials.... i concidered him a sellout before that being on mtv

its all a matter of opinion.
but "soldout" music is the easiest to find and download for free
