A more equal distribution of wealth and resources, a varied education (students learning a lot more than just the Koran), religous leaders denouncing violence as opposed to encouraging it, separation of church and state, women being allowed to take a more equal role in society, governments investing in infrastructure and encouraging the creation of jobs.
They need hope--death is a more glorious alternative to life in some of these places. The culture of hate of the west and Jews need to be denounced...hate is unhealthy. True peace can not be achieved until hate becomes a lot less mainstream.
Do I think it will happen? I sure hope so.

Hold a summit in Jerusalem and have the participants hit each other with paper bags filled with water. The last man standing wins and makes the decisions.
