Hmmm....depends on the kind of love, some people expect alot in return, some nothing, some just want to be loved back in the same way.

Not if love is true.

Putting your expectations on love means your expectations are more important than your love and, ultimately, the object of your love. Put a different way: if you love someone, they should be the most important thing to you; nothing else should matter.

If love is a selfless thing, how could the self's expectations (your expectations) have anything to do with it?

One thing to be wary of is if your feelings of love are more important than the person you love - that's infatuation.

Nobody gives anything without expectation. You should know this.
Nobody is selfless on this, without selfishness.
Without selfishness, you cannot live on this earth.
Love is also a thing to give and take. When you take, it is expectation.
Whatever you do without expectation, you are the first person who goes to unseen hell very fast.
Others enjoy on your tomb.

True love has no needs or expectations. It is given and received without preconceived hopes or returns.
