Next to my advise to appreciate the above answers (which are all correct from some point of view) ... I would like to make you aware that nail-biting ... actually stimulates the growth of the nail - this is an evolutionary mechanism, since the human fingernail is a multi-functional aspect of the hand! Massage the cuticals every night with a wheatgerm oil. Stimulates the blood flow and increases the speed of growth.
