You should definitely contact the Dr again about the reaction and if the baby was only on the antibiotics for 3 days, he may need additional doses of an alternative to take care of the ear infection.

For the diarhea, you have to make certain that the baby doesn't dehydrate. Water, Pedicare or Gatoraid will do (no fruit juice).

Give the baby a BRATS diet.

B ananas, bread
R ice, rice cereal
A pples, applesauce (unlike apple JUICE, these have pectin which tends to thicken bowel movements)
T oast (no butter, small amount of jam or jelly ok)
S altines-or other crackers-help replace lost salts

Most allergies come through as a rash, swelling, or vomitting. You should have contacted the dr before taking the baby off of the meds b/c maybe diarrhea was a side effect that the dr was willing for him to have in order to get rid of the infection. Ear infections can cause long term damage if they are not dealt with properly whereas diarrhea can be countered by keeping the child hydrated. Contact the dr and get his opinion as soon as possible

before taking your child off the antibiotics you should have called your doctor unless you were directed otherwise. most times you can get ahold of a nurse within the hour for problems like this. in any case, make an appointment to see the doctor and make sure the baby gets lots of fluids.

Your proibably right, he is probably having Diarrhea
from the antibiotic, they can do that.. read the pamplet that came with his meds... I would def suggest calling the dr and letting them know, because he may need to have it switched... because the ear infection ins't going to get better now because you stopped the meds... but he will still need one.. I also sugggest giving him pedialyte, althought you didn't say how old he was, but make sure he stays hydrated. (More suggestions in the link below)

Ask the Dr that proscribed the drugs what kind of side affects their are. and compare them to the condition. if the Daria last long enough the baby will dehydrate.

You don't say how old he is. Is he teething? Our kids always got that when they were. Keep him hydrated
