The war on terror is a lot like the war on drugs. Specifically made to be catchy and incite strong emotional responses in the people. Emotional people tend to ignore the fact that our government is causing most of the problems.
I.E. the CIA is the biggest drug cartel around, and during Vietnam they were caught.
I think the "war on terror." is going to rip away the last bits of freedom we have. It's going to cause people to become so fearful of others that everyone will become an informant.
We will soon see gestapo like checkpoints all over the country, of course a national ID. The draft is looking pretty good to the government right now. Only it's not called the draft, it's called "universal service."

I think the war on terror has already affected our economy and our freedom because of the increased security. I realize these things cannot be helped. Much more than this is what the terrorist are looking to do, totally disrupt our whole system. I don't think we should allow this to happen. I believe we should concentrate on security and border matters which will make it harder for the terrorist to get inside our Nation in the first place. Those already here for the most part are not hard to spot. Exchange students and even our own citizens who have been brain washed in one fashion or another but because of their actions can still be picked out fairly easy. We should not allow our normal lifestyle be totally disrupted because of these things, nor should we get radical in our security for the normal citizens. A little common sense goes a long way.

The more advanced countries just invent their own terror and then identify it where they want it to be, so they can then attack to achieve their agendas. But in doing so they make all there people targets in the long run.
You cant fight terror it is an idea "the war on terror" is just buzz words to keep the sheeples happy at home and not thinking too much.

First of all there is no War on terror...It's only an attempt by America to gain oil by invading Iraq.....Do you really believe that something good will come out of War?...In the interview held by the formerly kidnapped journalist Jill Carrol...her captors say that all they want to do is be left alone..and to make their country peaceful and great...Nobody kill's for pleasure except Psychos...talking bout psychos there have been numerous reports of American soldiers violating human rights in Iraq...which includes the raping and killing of a 14 year old girl...you call that War on terror..we all know the reason for the rise in terror but are afraid to say it out loud....

The concept of 'war on terror' is incorrect. Terrorists do not own a state. They operate in small independent groups. Invading other sovereign nations on this flimsy pretext is nothing but a blatant opportunism. The operation of intelligence agencies needs to be made more effective to counter this threat.

The United States is using up all of its political clout in prosecuting this war. Subsequently all else on the geopolitical landscape, including Iran and North Korea going nuclear, cannot be properly addressed. As I write these words, those impetuous, youthful romantics - terrorists and WMD - are preparing to go steady. And the United States has allowed itself to become divided from its traditional allies, such as France. (Remember "Divide and Conquer"?)The world is in more trouble than most anyone is capable of appreciating.

War on Terror is just a phrase coined by Bush and Co. to sound catchy. IMHO it should be rename to War Of Terror since that's what US is doing right now.

Hmm, well since the "War on Terror" is also going on in Chechnya, I guess that means more immigrants from there- who I welcome with open arms.
Other than that, we've had people killed by boths side of the conflict- one by Israel, and two by terrorists in Iraq (or was it Afghanistan?). I suppose people will keep dying in those parts of the world.
From Finland.

I think the worse is yet to come, that it's going to take an even greater tragedy to convince people that the threat is real and that they, too, are a target. It's not conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat, Christian or Muslim. It's ideological hate. They don't need a time out. Don't need a hug. Educating them is a moot point. They have chosen to live by the sword.

What goes around, comes around.
Mess with another religionm lie and cheat about your real intentions, create fake reasons... and its gets remembered into the DNA of the victims.
Later - even generations later.... the revenge is taken.
I would be worried, very worried .....
