Make sure you have connected the monitor with the graphics card (on back of the tower - only one port fits with the monitor cable you will find it easily). Then make sure that it is connected well (you know that the screws are OK & all this stuff)!

If this doesn't fit your problem, make sure your graphics card is connect well to the motherboard or if it is connected at all (you have to look inside the computer)!

Those are the most common problems, If there is still a problem, give more details!

Your monitor is not getting signal from the computer.
monitor is getting power as it is messaging you and telling you it is getting no data from tower.
First does tower have any indicator lights lit?
Second when you turn on tower, keyboard should blink, lights on the right.
third, tower should beep one or two beeps to tell you the power on self test passed. you will not get a picture till these things happen.
then tower has some video capabilities to boot up in bios.
computers arent smart and do things in the same order when waking up.
i would ask help from the person from whom i bought the computer
even to the point of taking just the tower to them and have them show you it works.

This is usually because the montor is plugged into the VGA socket

Make sure the monitor is plugged into the port that is near the bottom of the tower

If this does not work and you are still getting no signal you will have a hardware problem with the PC

You should check the connection between computer and the monitor. It could be that the AC Power device is not working well after new tower was being mounted.

OK, Is the graphics card built in to the motherboard or is it a card moved from the other PC ?

If it's a card, take it out and put it in again. If it's an AGP card there is only one slot it will go in, if it's a PCI card then try another slot, anf make sure the card is firmly in place.

There can be a problem with the AC Power cable or the VGA cable that is connected to the tower.

Does this new tower sound like it is receiving power? If not, check to be sure the power supply is connected to the motherboard

Get him a Katana. of course, a pretend one. Or like, boxers. yet get them revealed for him with cool stuff like rates or, in case you elect for to be fairly cheesy, a image of the two one among you. :D My brother is 17, and all he looks to fairly care approximately is females, rugby, and prefer... nutrition. It fairly relies upon on what he's into. Sorry if that sounds unhelpful, yet yea. What does he decide for to do?

Could simply be that the graphics card is not plugged in correctly.
