Is there a correct seat height adjustment for the drivers seat low-high?

Usually, there's a seat high adjustment on relatively new cars. However, most old cars do not have them.
To get the best seat height, I'll suggest its a position where you can comfortably see the road, have a good grasp of the steering wheel and a good distance from controling the radio, a/c etc.

It's usually most comfortable to have ones thighs resting on the seat.

I'd say high [without knowing what you're driving] purely for a visability enhancement!
