In all likelihood, he had to cross the road, for at least two good reasons; 1. Re-THUG-licans had really screwed up his side of the road, to the point, where it was unhealthy to remain, and, 2. There was probably some mess, created by Re-THUG-licans, on the other side of the road, that needed cleaning up, before it too became uninhabitable!!!
