I think of them as a people. I think Chinese people DO NOT like outsiders knowing anything more than they know. Chinese people are very close people to each other and they panic when they see something they don't understand and ask questions and argue a lot while most of the people ignore and walk away.

China is a great country with a long history and vast territory and abundant of resource. But it is a pity that it still ruled by communist. It suppose to be an autocratic or dictatorial state. Though Chinese enjoy big economic grow in the past two decades and having a better material life now, but they need more political freedom. They need to think freely and speak freely. It is sad to see Flunking members, religious leaders, Tibetan leaders and human right activists arrested and persecuted in China. There seem that only on word one thought is allowed. That is Chinese Communist is the only correct and great leader that should rule China forever. All Chinese media speak only one word to day.China's one party system is the root of political corruption, economic corruption and cultural corruption and social conflict need to be seriously addressed.

I've found that many take a dynastic approach as opposed to americans who tend to take a "carpe diem" approach.

Many chinese don't live fully for today, but are aware of ways to improve the lives of their children, and their choices reflect this. Their state policies reflect this too, they have a vision for what the future will be like in 50, 100, 200 years, and are trying to make decisions now that will pay dividends over time.

That, and their massive population, is what makes them the biggest threat to US dominance in the next century.

Clean, obedient, family oriented. Have patience, are willing to let a plan take decades as opposed to have to do it right now. Don't change governments every four are eight years so they can stay the course and accomplish what the central government sets out to do.
