Having met my partner on the internet, I know where just chatting and a bit of flirting can lead... current partners (at the time) got hurt, it was all very messy - and there's no way I'd get involved in it again.
Its easy when chatting online to start to obsess about the other person - there's an appeal in being able to shape them into whoever you want them to be - plus they're over the other side of the country or world, they don't know your mates... its easy and can be mighty tempting.
But all the time and energy you're putting into your online chats, and all the attention you're giving this cyberpal, is time, energy and attention you're not giving your partner. So unless you're very honest about your situation, and very careful not to let it tip over into something more flirtatious, it's a very, very dangerous game and runs pretty darn close to (mentally) cheating.

There are two forms of cheating .. there is a physical form and then there is a emotional form. If you are starting a relationship with someone via internet that includes a emotional part, telling the other that you love them or giving them hopes of a future together. Yes you are cheating. If you are just talking with a person, honest about your current relationship and no boundaries have been crossed - no you are not cheating.

Cheating is cheating. If you're searching on the internet and deceiving your partner, it is just plain wrong. And, really bad karma to boot. If you want out, be open and honest and move on. But, don't cheat and lie. Have some integrity....

No but I keep in touch through friends reunited with someone I was at school with years ago. My husband cannot understand that because this friend is a feller that I need to keep in touch. But this is the mentality of the British male who nearly always think that something is up if a female has a male friend. Unlike the Europeans, where it perfectly acceptable that outside of marriage even your best mate can be of the opposite sex.

I'm not seeing anyone, but I wouldn't if I was. And it really depends on what you mean by cheating, looking at porn or doing cyber with someone. I don't really view that as cheating. As long as I'm not or they aren't meeting anyone from off the computer.

I don't cheat on my husband in any way, shape or form. Internet cheating is cheating, that's why it's called cheating.

cheating is only when an emotional element creeps in
ie, you tell the other person that you will meet them (whether you intend to or not) or you tell someone on line that you have fallen in love
if you just chat, and discuss situations, problems, wishes etc etc then that is not cheating
i do not cheat on line (not any more anyway....)

no way! cheating is cheating and I would never cheat on my boyfriend. Every person deserves to be loved and if you need that excitement then is better to end the relationship than cheat.

Yes, a number of times, but it is harmless flirting, and hardly what I would call cheating

No, I don't cheat on my partner, I love him too much.
Did you know that you can cheat your partner while he/she is with you? You can fantasize about another person in your mind while your partner are in your arms? It is called adultery of the mind.
If your relationship is solid...it won't be necessary!
