I like the answers so far. People who weren't around in the 70s have no idea of the GLOBAL impact yje Bruce Lee phenomenon was. He introduced the world to the Honk Kong film market and action pics have never been the same.

Bruce Lee was a great fighter and one of the greatest action star, his acting is sometimes quite wooden though, and the definition of "action star" goes way beyong just fighting and includes doing stunts. There are other action stars who are equally amazing, Jackie Chan is insane with his stunts and can fight, Tony Jaa is also capable of insane stunts and his style of fighting is even more awesome than Jackie, Jet Li does amazing wirework and is a great cinematic fighter. So nope, I can't really say Bruce is absolutely the greatest.

Bruce Lee was a good action star - in his time.
There is Jackie Chan who is also good and Jet Li and so on and on - there will always be a good action star.
