she found out last week, and she has stopped eating , she hasnt eaten for 5 days. can this harm the baby?could she miscarry?

It can kill her. The baby and the mom. What is she thinking?? If she does not want the baby then she could have it taken out and give it up for adoption. The baby at this point will live outside of the mother with some help with the NICU staff.
If the baby did die then it would NOT be a miscarriage....it will be a stillbirth. The baby if fully formed. She would have to go through birth anyway. And believe me, it is easier to give birth to a living baby then a dead one.
Also warn her that if she causes the baby's death that SHE can be held liable. There is a woman that caused her unborn baby's death by taking drugs. Because her baby was past the age of viability she was charged with murder.
So, she better start eating for herself even if she doesn't care for her baby.
I swear...you need a license to drive a car but any fool can get pregnant.

SHE JUST FOUND OUT??????????????????????? OMG! 32-35 weeks????? SHE ONLY HAS 5-8 WEEKS TO GO OR NONE AT THIS RATE.
If you are a true friend, you need to ask yourself these questions. Why doesn't she want to eat? Is she bulemic? Is she fat/obese and just didn't realize she was within 5-8 weeks of delivery? Was she still having periods and thinking she was just getting fat due to feeling no movement from the baby kicking? Is she really young and doesn't want her folks to know and has been hiding it from them as well as you because she is scared you will tell them/everyone? Is she alone, without the boy/man around that helped get her this way and doesn't know what she should do? Is she an addict and doesn't think or know there is help?
These are questions that a good friend should ask.
Fact is, the baby will take whatever it needs from Mom but Mom will be left an empty shell. It may not show today but down the road, it will rear it's ugly head when her teeth fall out, her bones begin to break, etc. The fetus does all of it's growing in the last 10-15 weeks. If the baby is full term, yet really small, CPS will swoop and take the infant and charge her with neglect for the baby's failure to thrive. Look it up if nobody believes me.
It is scary as far as her not telling you, her friend, that she thought she might be pregnant unless you are not a friend she can trust. Maybe it is your own self you are talking about, I don't know. Maybe there is something/somebody she doesn't want anyone to find out about.
Women know when they are that far along. Young girls don't. Is she underage? If so, this is the time to step up to the plate and really be her friend. If you are a true friend, ask these questions:
Do you just want to shrivel up and die because you are not ready and don't think you can handle childbirth or being strapped down with a child? Why didn't you tell me sooner since I am your friend? Since you cannot take care of yourself enough to see a doctor sooner, have you thought about giving the baby up to one who wants to love him/her? Unless you have a really good reason, are you aware that CPS will be right there to swoop because of lack of prenatal care? Your doc has already got the paperwork in the works. Believe me. Did you know that infants are a hot commodity these days for the county DHHS? Did you forget I am your friend and I would have helped you from the start? Did you know that you can carry out a private adoption and have all of your living/hospital expenses paid? You need to hurry now though. You can even make make arrangements with the adoptive parents that you want to be a part of the child's life and agree to whatever arrangements with the parents you think would be suitable for you, them and the child's best interests and draw up the legal papers through a private attorney? Did you know that if you visit the obgyn every single week from here on out, you may be able to keep CPS out of your business, whatever you decide? Did you also know that babies are not a death sentence? They are awesome. They bring many hours and years of joy if you love them as much as they will love you, which is unconditional? Did you know that you can trust me to help you through this, that you will not be alone?
Did you know girlfriend that she doesn't sound like she has enough love for herself, let alone a child. She stopped eating because her worst fears were confirmed. I know I sound harsh, but I am 44 years old and have seen everything you can imagine as far as young girls all the way up to cheating wives with their pregnancies. I am an adult survivor of the foster care system...I know all the ins and outs. Get my drift girlfriend? Lead her in the right direction. Abortion is not an option now, so tell her to chow down so she can think with a clear head.

She will do serious damamge to her own body before it harms the baby. I was unable to keep anything down for most of 2 pregnancies, in and out of the hospital, being fed through IVs, adn have to wonderfully healthy boys. If she's wanting to get rid of the baby, there are other, safer, and healthier ways.

it will cause her harm before the baby will be harmed.. here's why:
when a woman is pregnant, he body gives up everything to the baby, when the baby has enough nutrients, then the body takes care of the mother.
when the mother stops eating, the baby will basically be feeding off of the mother's body. the mother will be malnourished before any harm is caused to the baby.

That is seriously strange.. How old is your friend.. yes well it could lead to a miscarriage or maybe harm the baby in other ways. If she doesn't want a baby the only thing she can do now is get an abortion maybe thats illeage but thats the only way..

How does she NOT know she was pregnant for so long? It will harm her baby, but she's harming herself as the baby will get nutrition from HER body.

How can you "just find out" that you're 8-9 months pregnant? I'd think that you'd find out a lot sooner than that.
